FIRST SIX MONTHS OF 2020

During the first six months of this year, most of my editorial work has been photographing Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. This began in early January with Trudeau’s news conference reacting to the downing of Ukraine International Airlines Flight 752 in Tehran. There were many Canadians on board and many others who lived, studied and worked here.  Trudeau held several news conferences and attended vigils for the victims.

Once the pandemic hit Canada in March, Trudeau began holding daily news briefings outside Rideau Cottage, where he lives. Most of the briefings were Covid-19-related but others focused on the mass shootings in Nova Scotia and the Black Lives Matter movement.

For the moment, since there is little activity in Ottawa due to the pandemic,

my corporate photography work has come to a halt. I hope that will resume in the near future.

So far, 2020 has been a bit of a rollercoaster for the world. We’ll see what the next six months bring.
