Wedding of Malcolm and Darlene in Ottawa
My time with the RCMP Commission Bob Paulson has come full circle. Photographed him on the first day of his appointment to the job in 2011 and now on his last day.
Recently I photographed Prime Minister Justin Trudeau for an assignment for the Toronto Star. I had two tasks – photograph him during the Star’s interview with him and also take a more formal portrait. The PMO generously provided time for me to set up and test my formal shot before the PM arrived for the interview. I had a bit of time to decide what to do and one of Trudeau’s staff members even agreed to pose for the test shot. The interview proceeded and when it ended, I asked the PM to sit at his desk for the formal shot. He obliged and I managed to capture 20 frames before he had to leave for another appointment.
I had the honour of spending the day documenting former Prime Minister Paul Martin’s official portrait unveiling on Parliament Hill.
In the last few months, approved I have had the pleasure of photographing some of the new Cabinet Ministers and MPs in Ottawa.
I have had so many interesting assignments during my career and some of my favourites have been photographing portraits of Canada’s Finance Ministers. Some shoots lasted just a few minutes and for others I was granted a generous amount of time for the shoot.
I always try to go to the assignment with a vision of what the final photograph will be. Here are a few of my photos of Canada’s Finance Ministers.
